Posted 9/25/21

Congratulations to Dr. Rob Nye, Assistant Superintendent for Instructional Services, for being recognized by the Classroom of the Future Foundation as the Innovative Educator of the Year. Dr. Nye was presented the award at the Classroom of the Future Foundation's 18th Annual Innovation in Education Awards at SeaWorld San Diego on September 23, 2021.

Dr. Nye is in his 9th year at Carlsbad Unified, and oversees all aspects of teaching and learning at our 16 schools serving 11,000 students. During that time, Dr. Nye has increased access to AP and Community College courses for all students; he’s championed the modification of our graduation requirements to align with the UC/CSU system’s entrance requirements; and he’s aligned our K-12 Career Pathways with local workforce needs to ensure that career-bound students have the knowledge and skills necessary to earn a high-wage job and remain in our region after graduation.
