Staying Home When Sick or Awaiting Test Results
Posted 8/25/21

As we continue to see an increased number of COVID-19 cases in San Diego County and here in Carlsbad, we’d like to remind you to keep your students at home if they are showing any COVID-like symptoms. We recommend contacting your physician to be tested for COVID-19 if symptoms are present.

Also, students and staff members should not come to school in the following instances:

  • If you have taken a COVID-19 test due to symptoms and are waiting for the results

  • If you have taken a COVID-19 test and received a positive test result

  • If someone in your household has tested positive for COVID-19 and you are a close contact

  • If you’ve been notified that you are a close contact to a COVID-positive individual outside of school (this notification may come from county public health, from a daycare or afterschool provider, or from another non-CUSD entity)

  • If you’ve been notified that you are a close contact to a COVID-positive individual at school (this notification will most likely come from your school or from the district)

If you’re not sure, please call your school directly - someone there will answer your questions and/or connect you with resources.

Thank you for your support.
