Parent University

Program Description: Parent University is designed to provide CUSD parents with critical information to help their studentssucceed in school. The goal of Parent University is to inspire and empower parents to take their parenting know-how to the next level. Guiding Principles: We believe that parents are a child’s first teacher. We also believe that every parent wants their student to have the best school experience possible. To that end, we believe education is the best gift a parent can give to their children.

The College Process Starts in Middle School

CUSD middle and high school counselors will cover A-G graduation requirements, how to balance academics and extracurricular activities, community service requirements, and how students can become competitive college applicants. 3 sessions covering the same information will be offered at all three middle schools in April.

College & Career Planning: Naviance, 4 Year Plans, & College & Career Inventories

Parents are invited to learn how to use Naviance, a college and career readiness online program that is available to all CUSD high school students. It empowers students to discover their individual strengths and learning styles, prepare their 4 year high school academic plans, explore college and career options based on their strengths and interests, and find out about scholarships and the college application process. (Be sure you have your PARENT Naviance Account set up before you attend and bring your child’s school ID number)
