Max Ward – 2017-18 Student Rep to the Board

Max Ward is a 12th grade student at Carlsbad High School. He was appointed to the position of Student Representative to the Board of Trustees for the 2017-18 school year. Max feels his job as Student Board Representative is important because the demands and needs of the students must be brought to the body that governs the Carlsbad Unified School District. He feels it's important for students to have a say in how their school system is run, since it regards their education and future. Max says he is ecstatic to be the voice of Sage Creek and Carlsbad High Schools. This year his class schedule includes AP Environmental Science, AP Literature, ASB, Advanced Journalism, AP Economics, and Elementary Calculus. After high school Max plans to attend a four year university, preferably in state, and begin the path to his life-long dream of becoming a Professor of Cultural Anthropology, and studying ancient religion and culture. Someday Max would like to own a house with a huge library. His interests and hobbies include reading books about ancient history, backpacking, traveling, barbecuing and spending time with friends, family, and his cat, Salmon.
